Feast Your Eyes With Art And History At Glenrowan And Winton Wetlands

Glenrowan is the town where the infamous Ned Kelly was captured in 1880. The streets are full of history and little shops and eateries. Don’t forget to get a photo in front of the 6-meter-high Ned Kelly statue.

The “Winton Wetlands” is the largest wetland restoration project in the Southern Hemisphere. It is a thriving location for plants, animals, and visitor experiences. You can walk, cycle or drive the various tracks and discover the infamous “art in the landscape” and maybe even see turtles and frogs. Enjoy a snack at the café whilst enjoying the incredible bird life.

Take a road trip of discovery (from 3 hours) on the “North East Silo Art Trail”, as the name suggests, the art isn’t in a gallery, it is a much larger and more spectacular treat for your eyes. Not only will you see the spectacular works of various artists, but you can also visit antique shops, and cafes and enjoy looking around at the beautiful landscape. Pop into the Benalla information center for your map.
